I sat down to write a few words of advice to my grandson and his new wife about married life; this is what I wrote: Dear Taylor and Amber, With youthful enthusiasm and very little forethought, I made the most important decision in my life when I married Nola Alene Bradley on August 8, 1964. From that single act, all the best things in my life came forth: my life-long love affair with her, my wonderful family, their families and all those to follow. Any success I have had in my life came from that strong bond and friendship we shared together. Any adversity or setback I overcame was met with our combined strength and resilience. Without her, my life would not have been complete; with her by my side, I was whole. I wish you both the same success that we enjoyed.
