Our FAT summer

When William and Steven were Kindergarten age Nola and I signed them up for a pre-Kindergarten program. The first day the boys learned, under strict supervision, how to make bisquit donuts. It involved a can of bisquits a hole maker and a fry pan with 3 inches of oil. Very simple and so delicious. So the very next morning after dropping the boys off at pre school she and I went to the store and bought many cans of bisquits. In those days you could get 10 cans for $1. We also bought powder sugar, maple flavoring and chocolate frosting. Every morning we'd walk the boys to school and head back to her house to engage in our new favorite hobby of donut making. It was a wonderful summer and we assured ourselves we'd take the weight off by Christmas....
