Celebration of the Life of Nola Alene Haggerty Please come to a mass and reception to honor Nola and share your memories Date: Friday, January 27, 2012 Time: 11:00am – Till the cows come home Location: St. James Church & St. James Memorial Center 1275 B Street Davis, CA. 95616 Requiem Mass will begin at 11:00 am. A luncheon reception will follow in the Memorial Center, next to the church. Food will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite dish or dessert if you so choose. Following lunch and a short formal presentation, there will be ample time to share your favorite anecdotes or feelings about Nola. Nola would want this time to be filled with humor and jollity. Try to remember those times when she tickled your funny bone or slipped you a bit of wisdom when you weren’t looking. No single experience can capture her remarkable essence, so just focus on one that was meaningful or memorable to you. There will be tears; that is unavoidable. But as my Great Grandmother Lemon used to say to her children: “The more you cry, the less you pee!” Let this be a time when the tears come from laughter. If you know Nola the Nurse, you know she firmly believed in the healing power of laughter. So let the goal of this gathering be that we all leave laughing! If you cannot be present for the celebration but wish to share an experience, send them to me and we will try to incorporate them into the program. One final suggestion: If you attend, wear something RED to honor her favorite color. Thank you for the love and support you have shown our family; Nola would be proud.
