It's beginning to look like I won't be able to attend the memorial on Friday (Ren will be there), so I'll just say a few words here...I think back on our many years of being neighbors and I always return to Nola's warmth, her sense of humor, her (dare I say it) homespun wisdom, her strength in the face of adversity (the fire, most of all)...and I that she was there for the birth of both of our children and, as I recall, joked that it was such a pleasure to be present for the birth of someone else's kids!...Nola, you are in our hearts forever.--Art Shapiro
